On Monday, June 14, Tabb was arrested without incident in Killeen while enrolled in a summer school class.
According to local officials, authorities Sunday were still considering what charges the juvenile will face.
So far, one victim has succumbed to their injuries Sunday morning, Doughlas Kantor, a 25-year-old tourist that was visiting from New York. Kantor was a graduate of Michigan State University and worked at the Ford Motor Company.
“He was loved by all who knew him and had an infectious smile that would light up any room,” the family said in a public statement.
According to Nick Kantor, the victim’s brother, Kandor visited the area to see friends from high school when a “gang-related incident” occurred on 6th Street. Kandor was planning to marry and start a family with his high-school sweetheart, Adrianna Esposito.
“Words cannot describe the pain I feel losing you,” Esposito wrote in an Instagram Story on Sunday. “I love you always and forever.”
Another victim in the shooting, Jessica Ramirez, is in critical condition and undergoing surgery. According to a GoFundMe created by her mother, Bilma Ramirez, her daughter sustained a bullet wound that has left her paralyzed. Ramirez is a single mother of five and was on 6th Street to celebrate her 34th birthday.
“She was one of the two that are in critical condition, as of right now, she is fighting for her life and had back surgery due to one of the gunshots and will be permanently paralyzed,” her mother wrote on the GoFundMe. “She is currently a single mother raising five kids and will need as much help as possible.”
