WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today released the following statement after the Senate passed the FY2018 Budget Resolution:

“This budget not only commits to reining in spending and growing our economy, but importantly, it serves as the foundation for tax reform,” said Sen. Cornyn. “This vote is the next step toward ensuring hardworking Texans can keep more of their paychecks and small businesses can expand and create jobs.  Now, it’s the Senate Finance Committee’s turn to craft meaningful reform legislation to overhaul our antiquated tax system, and I look forward to engaging in that process.”

Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, is a member of the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.
