AUSTIN, TX –  State Senator Donna Campbell, Chairman of the Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee, accepted the endorsement of Governor Abbott today in her bid for reelection.

“Senator Campbell is a strong leader who has proven herself effective time and time again at passing conservative legislation. She is a fighter with a strong track record of championing what is best for all Texans, and I’m proud to endorse her for reelection to the Texas Senate,” Governor Abbott said.

First elected in 2012, Senator Campbell has authored or sponsored over 100 pieces of legislation that have made it to the governor’s desk on their way to becoming law, including two of Governor Abbott’s priority items during the August special session.

During the 85th Legislature she successfully championed municipal annexation reform, stronger medical reporting requirements for abortion facilities, and the Help for Texas Heroes Act, which provides expanded access to mental health care for veterans.

“I am extremely grateful to Governor Abbott for his conservative leadership, and I look forward to working closely with him for four more years to keep Texas strong for our families and businesses,” said Senator Campbell.

Senator Donna Campbell is an emergency room physician who represents Senate District 25.
