Six Texas State Bobcat Basketball Games To Air On ESPN3

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced on Wednesday the television and digital package for men’s and women’s basketball for the 2016-17 season. Three games apiece for the Texas State men’s and women’s basketball teams will be shown on ESPN3 with two men’s basketball games possibly being selected to air on ESPN2.

All six games on ESPN3 will be on the road against Appalachian State, Georgia State and Troy. First to air will be the women’s game at Troy on Thursday, Jan. 12 and the men follow four days later. Next up is the women’s contest against the Mountaineers on Thursday, Jan. 26 and the men take on ASU on Monday, Jan. 30. The last regular season games to be broadcast on the ESPN digital platform will be at Georgia State on Feb. 16 and 20 for the women and men, respectively.

Men’s basketball’s contest in Strahan Coliseum against Coastal Carolina on Monday, Jan. 2 is one of five games that could be selected air on ESPN2. Two weeks later, the Bobcats’ game at Troy is one of four options for ESPN to air at 2 p.m. The announcement for which games will be nationally-televised is made 21 days out from each date.

Overall, 125 SBC basketball games are set for live telecasts. All games will be available on WatchESPN and ESPN app. ESPN3 will live stream regular season games and all games of the men’s and women’s basketball championship tournaments.

Both teams open up the regular season on Friday with the women tipping off at 11:30 a.m. at SMU and the men taking on Florida Atlantic at 9 p.m. in the opening game of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic.

Season tickets are currently on sale for the 2016-17 basketball season. They can be purchased online at www.txstatebobcats.com/tickets, over the phone at 512-245-2272 or by visiting the Mark and Linda Smith Ticket Office at Bobcat Stadium between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
