SM Education Foundation GREEN Fashion Show

SM Education Foundation Inaugural GREEN Fashion Show

The San Marcos Education Foundation will be hosting a special inaugural event entitled, The GREEN Fashion Show. This event will benefit the Education Foundation, and will be held at the Quail Creek Country Club on Saturday, March 7th at 1 pm.

This dynamic event will feature fashions from local thrift and resale businesses including Have a Heart Thrift Store, KnD’s Resale N More, the San Marcos Goodwill, the San Marcos Thrift Store, Second to None Upscale Retails, Twice Blessed Consignment Store, and Vagabond Vintage Clothing.

Models for the show include teachers and staff from the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District.  The models will be wearing outfits that were selected by students from the San Marcos High School Fashion Design program.  Students from the Venom Beauty Academy at SMHS will provide hair and makeup for the models.

A silent auction featuring items that are gently used, recycled or repurposed, items from SMCISD students and staff, or are from local businesses will be open for bidding during the event.  There will also be a raffle with prizes being drawn throughout the show.

“We are highlighting three things with this event,” said Ann Frugoni, SMEF board member and event chair.  “It needs to promote the GREEN theme as much as possible, include elements of the SMCISD and feature local businesses.”

Please RSVP to Ann Frugoni at annfrugoni@gmail.com or 512-757-1817. Mail advance payments to 3101 Oak Park Way, San Marcos, TX 78666, or pay online at www.sanmarcosedfoundation.org (click donate online and choose Annual Campaign).

The San Marcos Education Foundation was created to provide assistance to and generate financial support for the San Marcos CISD. The Foundation provides funds not available through the district’s normal operating budget for programs and activities to facilitate student achievement, to recognize and encourage staff excellence, and to provide a vital link between the community and the classroom.  The Foundation Board, made up of dedicated community leaders and volunteers, supports the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District with student and teacher recognition activities and innovative teaching grants and scholarships.
