The San Marcos Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Wonder World Park’s missing Macaw.
On March 4, Wonder World Park in San Marcos announced a reward was being offered in the search for the park’s Macaw, Suzy.
According to police, on Saturday, March 2, at approximately 6:00 PM, surveillance footage captured an unknown suspect forcibly entering the animal enclosure at Wonder World Park; the suspect or suspects stole the Macaw, who is valued around $5,000, from her cage.
Camera footage caught a vehicle driving through the park prior to the incident. The animals that were in the same enclosure as Suzy were observed wondering free in the park after the vehicle was last seen on video.
SMPD is asking anyone with information pertaining to the incident or the identity of the “actor(s)” to contact San Marcos Police Detective Kassondra Raven at (512) 753-2303.
According to Kristin Williams, Wonder World Park Operator, the Macaw Suzy has called the park home for over 20 years and “is a beloved member of the family.”
Suzy is a 38-year-old Blue and Gold Macaw.
“We are devastated by her disappearance and just want her home,” Williams said.
