SMCISD and Campuses Met Standard, Several Earn Distinctions

San Marcos CISD continues to meet or exceed the increased rigor of the state accountability system. The Texas Education Agency released the preliminary 2015 Accountability Ratings on August 7, 2015. Under the state accountability system, campuses and districts can be rated as met standard or improvement required. The San Marcos CISD and each of its campuses met standard. Several of the campuses also garnered attention in the form of distinction designations.

Distinction designations are awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement in academic areas in addition to those evaluated under state accountability. Campus distinctions are based on indicators of student performance in comparison to 40 similar campuses.

Eads adds, “The positive news about our scores is that we are moving upward. We are continuing to improve, and I know we are headed in the right direction.”
