San Marcos CISD Board Of Trustees Approve The Hiring Of New Directors

At the San Marcos CISD Regular Scheduled Board Meeting on June 15, the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of three director positions.

Congratulations to the following individuals:

Richard Duvall – Director of Energy Management and Sustainability

Amber Owens – Director of Instruction and Campus Support

Rose Pearson – Director of Pupil Personnel and Student Support Services

Richard Duvall

Duvall will transition to his new position with 27 years of education experience and 14 years in San Marcos CISD.

The new director of energy management and sustainability served as the Miller Middle School principal since 2015.

“Although I will miss my work with our school family, I am excited about this new opportunity and I look forward to continuing to serve the San Marcos community in this new role,” Duvall said.

Amber Owens

Owens has spent her entire educational career in San Marcos CISD, beginning in 2003.

Most recently, Owens served as the principal of Hernandez Elementary for five years.

“As a proud product of the San Marcos CISD, it has been my honor to serve the students and their families in the role of Principal of Hernandez Elementary School,” Owens said. “I am excited and eager to serve all campuses, students, and families in this district and community.”

Rose Pearson

Pearson will enter her 20th year in San Marcos CISD this upcoming school year and most recently served as the principal of Goodnight Middle School since 2016.

“I feel very fortunate to have been a part of the Goodnight family and I will always cherish the time spent at the school,” Pearson said. “In my new role, I will provide support to our entire district and the community I love.”
