SMCISD Has New Executive Director Of Secondary Education

 

The San Marcos CISD Trustees voted to approve James J. Barton as the Executive Director of Secondary Education at the August 15, 2016, school board meeting.
 
 
 
He comes to San Marcos from North East ISD (NEISD) in San Antonio where he most recently served as an Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Winston Churchill High School.
 
 
Prior to that, he was an Assistant Principal at John Wood Middle School and a teacher and coach at Barbara Bush Middle School in NEISD.
 
 
Barton earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Master of Education in Educational Administration—both at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
 
 
He is expected to join the San Marcos CISD team later this month.
