For 13 consecutive years, San Marcos CISD has been awarded a Loss Prevention Grant from the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund. On Monday, May 16, 2016, Risk Solutions Consultant Marissa Saucedo presented the 2016 award of $6,000 to Director of Transportation Carter Hutson and Business and Support Services administrative specialist Alicia Guenther. Guenther submitted the grant on behalf of the Transportation Department for improvements.

TASB Risk Management Associate Executive Director Dubravka Romano said, “Your [San Marcos CISD] consistent effort to improve the safety and manage the risks on your campuses deserves special recognition. I commend your efforts toward saving valuable resources through a dedicated loss prevention process.”

The TASB grants help implement loss prevention and safety initiatives, improve emergency management operations, and raise awareness of safety issues.
