SMCISD Names Two Middle School Associate Principals

Two San Marcos CISD assistant principals have been promoted to positions as associate principals: Rose Pearson and Kimberly Giesenschlag. Both have been assistant principals at Goodnight Middle School. Pearson will remain at Goodnight as Associate Principal, working with Principal Steve Dow. Giesenschlag will be Associate Principal at Miller Middle School, working with Principal Richard Duvall.

 

Pearson joined the Goodnight administrative team in August 2014. Since 2000, she has served the district in several capacities such as Third Grade Team Leader, Summer School District Lead Teacher, Math/Science Coach K-5, and as an Instructional Coach working with new teachers. In 2013-2014, she was an assistant principal in New Braunfels ISD, and she’s also worked in Hays CISD as a bilingual Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher. Pearson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) and a Masters in Educational                                                           Administration from Texas A&M—Commerce.

 

Giesenschlag became an assistant principal at Goodnight in August 2013, where she had been an Administrator Intern since August 2012. She joined San Marcos CISD in 2010 as a 7th grade math teacher and 8th grade summer school teacher. She also taught in the Central Kitsap School District prior to moving to San Marcos. Giesenschlag earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Math & Science Concentration) from Texas A&M University where she graduated Cum Laude.  She also holds two Masters of Education degrees: one in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington and one in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.
