SAN MARCOS — State Representative Erin Zwiener (D-Driftwood), in partnership with Mano Amiga and Walgreens Pharmacy, will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at San Marcos CISD’s Meet the Rattlers Night on Monday, August 23 at the Toyota Rattler Stadium.
HEB gift cards will be given to the first 125 individuals vaccinated during Monday’s event. Rep. Zwiener donated her July per diem, the constitutionally guaranteed stipend that legislators receive during session, to provide this additional incentive for vaccination against COVID-19. Those who have already been vaccinated may provide proof of vaccination to be entered into a raffle for other prizes and Rattler Nation merchandise.
Vaccines will be administered from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The vaccine is free, safe, effective, and available to any person aged 12 and older. The vaccine, along with other proven measures such as wearing face coverings and social distancing, will slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
For those under 18 wanting to receive a vaccine, a parent or guardian must complete the registration process and must attend the vaccination clinic with their child.
Monday’s Meet the Rattlers event will showcase all SMCISD athletic teams and includes performances by the Dazzlers, Diamond Line, Cheer, and Band.
