SMHS TPSA Chapter Place At Regionals, Advance To State Competition

SMHS TPSA Chapter Place At Regionals, Advance To State Competition
 
The San Marcos High School Texas Public Service Association (TPSA) had a great showing during their Regional Competition at Manor High School in Manor, Texas on Saturday, February 9, 2015. The TPSA stresses integrity, respect, and dignity regarding all individuals, and TPSA teaches students that maintaining high moral and ethical standards in Public Safety careers is vital.
 
Sponsor Cathy Dowling said, “Our students worked hard and did quite well in Regionals and now they have an opportunity to compete in the TPSA State Competition on April 10-11 at Judson High School in San Antonio. We are very appreciative of San Marcos Police Department Officers Donald Lee and Gene Tucker who supported us during those late afterschool training sessions.”
 
The following students received the places listed below and will compete in the State Competition in April:
 
SWAT/Hostage Negotiation :  3rd Place – Karla Solis, Stephanie Jimenez, Jonathan Soto, Matthew Delegado, Eric Villalpando and Hezekiah Vichique
 
Opening Statement:  2nd Place – Jamie Martinez
 
Criminal Case Analysis: 2nd Place – Larissa Del Bosque, Lizzette Bel Bosque
 
Fingerprinting: 1st Place – Angelina Obando    
 
Also Stephanie Jimenez, Hezekiah Vichique  and Eric Villalpando will also compete in the State Foot Pursuit Competition.
