SMPD Arrests Two Individuals On Intoxication Related

Driving While Intoxicated, Intoxicated Assault On Peace Officer

The San Marcos Police Department arrested two individuals on intoxication-related charges early Wednesday morning in Downtown San Marcos after a routine traffic stop ended in an auto-pedestrian crash. 

On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at approximately 2:14 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop at the 100 block of E. Hopkins and arrested Breanna Kilgore (3/5/1995) for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

After officers had secured Kilgore in the back seat of the patrol car, at approximately 2:33 AM, a second vehicle struck the rear of the cruiser.

The impact knocked both officers to the ground. 

Intoxicated Assault On Peace Officer, Zachary Adams

According to the city of San Marcos, the officers were standing at the rear passenger door of the vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening injuries; both have been treated and released.

Kilgore was reported to have been uninjured in the collision. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, Zachary Adams (4/22/1997), for Intoxication Assault on a Peace Officer. 

Kilgore was released on a $2,500 bond. Adams is being held at Hays County Jail; as of 12:57 PM, he had not been before a judge to set bond.
