SMPD Assists Texas Rangers With Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation

Wednesday night, the San Marcos Police Department, in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, investigated an officer-involved shooting.

The incident occurred at the 7-eleven convenience store on the northbound I-35 Frontage Road at Wonder World Drive around 9:30 PM.

According to officials, SMPD was not involved in the incident, and no law enforcement officers were injured.

SMPD said they were assisting the Texas Rangers with the ongoing investigation, but there was no threat to the public. Residents were asked to avoid the area if possible.

No further information regarding the incident has been released.
