SMPD Investigates Overnight Double Fatality Rollover Incident On SH-123

The San Marcos Police Department is investigating a rollover incident that occurred near the 1000 block of SH-123 northbound last night and resulted in two fatalities.

At approximately 11:58 PM on Thursday, Jan. 2, SMPD was dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle crash in which two people were ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle, a purple 1998 Honda Accord, was traveling northbound on SH-123 when it veered to the right.

The vehicle struck a driveway culvert and rolled, ejecting both occupants. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. No other vehicles are believed to be involved. 

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Maggie Moreno. The passenger was transported by Hays County EMS to Ascension Seton Hospital in Kyle where he was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Scott Carey. 

The driver was identified as Daniel F. Aguilar (DOB 07/26/1967) of Kyle/Seguin and the passenger as Raymond D. Silguero (DOB 10/30/1964) of Waco/San Marcos. Next of kin for both occupants have been notified.

These are the first and second traffic fatalities in San Marcos for 2020. 

The SMPD Collision Investigation Team is still investigating the incident and were unavailable for comment.
