The San Marcos Police Department is asking the public for help identifying a suspect accused of robbing three people in the parking lot of a local restaurant on Thursday night.

Police say the robbery took place in the parking lot of Pluckers, 105 N. IH-35, at approximately 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. The three victims of the robbery were standing in the parking lot of the business talking when they were approached by the suspect, whom they say brandished a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Victims described the suspect as a Hispanic male, late 20’s to early 30’s, a light to medium complexion, a buzz cut style haircut, 5’07” with a stocky build weighing approximately 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a hoodie with black and gray horizontal stripes and blue jeans.

Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the suspect arriving in a mini-van that was missing both driver’s side hubcaps. The video also shows the suspect entering the van on the passenger side of the vehicle, indicating to police the possibility of another person driving the vehicle.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to call the San Marcos Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 512.753.2300 during regular business hours or the police non-emergency line at 512.753.2108, which is answered 24 hours a day. Tips can also submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1.800.324.8477 and www.citizenobserver.com.
