SMPD Requests Assistance In Spirit Pit Stop Robbery

On Friday evening, Dec. 11, San Marcos Police responded to the report of an Aggravated Robbery at Spirit Pit Stop, 1214 IH 35 South, and is asking the public for assistance in solving this crime.

At approximately 6:53 p.m. on Friday, an unidentified offender entered Spirit and wandered around the business while waiting for all customers to leave. 

After they departed, the offender approached the counteracting as if he was going to make a purchase.  

He then produced a handgun from his hoodie pocket, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded cash from the register. After taking the cash from the clerk, the offender fled on foot behind the business. 

Video surveillance shows the offender is a white or Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a red hoodie with the Air Jordan Jumpman logo over the left breast, ball cap, blue or purple camo-print gaiter face cover, black pants, and Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro shoes. 

The offender possibly has a small tattoo on the web of his right hand and another possible tattoo on the inside of his right wrist. 

The offender arrived and departed the Spirit parking lot on foot, and fled southbound on foot along Hines Street.

The offender was not located and the investigation is ongoing.
