The San Marcos Police Department is warning users of the dating website Plenty of Fish (
www.pof.com) about an incident that happened in October. One of the site’s users has been arrested after a victim said that he drugged her. Detectives are concerned that there may be other victims. Detectives are working an active case and ask that other potential victims come forward.
On Oct. 26, a woman met a man she had been corresponding with on the dating website who identified himself as Dylan Ericsson and falsely claimed to be a San Antonio firefighter. The two agreed to meet at the woman’s apartment. She believes he placed an unknown substance in her wine prior to having a sexual encounter. The substance caused, a reaction and the victim was hospitalized as a result. The victim reported the incident to police.
The man was located on Nov. 10 and identified as John Wesley Mcree (1/26/1977). He was arrested on several warrants for theft, fraud and identity theft from Travis, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell County areas, as well as possession of a controlled substance. Mcree also used the name “Richard Dustin Jessop” to identify himself. He is currently at the Hays County Jail.
The San Marcos Police Department believes it is likely that there are other victims who met Mcree online for dating or sexual encounters.
