SMTX THE BUS: Summer Nights Free Rides

SAN MARCOS – CARTS SMTX THE BUS is offering free rides in San Marcos to celebrate the coming of summer.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays in June, July and August, SMTX THE BUS rides in San Marcos are free between 6-8 p.m.

“San Marcos offers many fun opportunities to enjoy the summer evenings,” said Dana Platt, Community Services Director for CARTS. “We want to help our riders get to those events while introducing them to our new buses and extended evening hours.”


About SMTX THE BUS:

SMTX THE BUS runs on ultra-clean diesel and boasts a spacious 29-seat interior and doubles as a mobile office with free Wi-Fi on each bus.

SMTX THE BUS is free for Texas State University students, half-price for seniors, and persons with disabilities and elementary through high school students. It is $1 for a one way ride, $2 for an all-day pass, and $30 for a monthly pass. Passes can be purchased at the bus station on S Guadalupe. SMTX THE BUS has extended hours its hours until 8pm.
