Texas Film Commission Awards Dripping Springs With Film-Friendly Community Certification
The Film Friendly Texas Program is a certification and marketing program administrated by the Texas Film Commission (TFC).

The City of Dripping Springs has joined the ranks of more than 125 certified film-friendly communities in Texas.
The certification signifies that filmmakers can connect with trained film liaisons whose municipality has done the following:
- Attended a Film Friendly Texas training workshop, which includes guidance regarding best practices and how to effectively accommodate on-location filming activity.
- Submitted photo coverage of potential filming locations for inclusion in the Texas Film Commission location database.
- Passed administratively enforceable filming guidelines.
The Film Friendly Texas Program is a certification and marketing program administrated by the Texas Film Commission (TFC). Dripping Springs’ certification was made possible thanks to efforts led by the Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau (DSVB) with the support of the City.
“We are pleased to have worked with the DSVB to accomplish this recognition,” Mayor Todd Purcell said. “This will have a positive economic impact on community that will benefit all citizens.”
According to data from the TFC, the film industry resulted in $1.39 billion being spent in the Texas economy from Sept. 1, 2007, to August 31, 2017.
“We’re really excited to have Dripping Springs be on the official Film Friendly Texas Community list, especially since we’ve already had so many productions in our area. Now that we’re ‘official,'” Purcell said.
