“Step Up For State” Online Fundraising Event Returns For 2020

SAN MARCOS – Texas State University will launch its annual “Step Up for State” online fundraising event at 8 a.m. October 7, to support mission-critical projects for the university.

The campaign will last 1,899 minutes—corresponding with the university’s 1899 founding—and conclude at 3:39 p.m. October 8. Gifts may be made online at https://stepup.txstate.edu/o/texas-state-university/i/home

Over the last four years, Step Up for State has raised nearly $1 million to support Texas State. As in past years, Step Up for State will highlight ways donors can support the student experience.

Several projects from past years will be featured again this year, including Bobcat Bounty, Bobcat Build, Common Experience, First Generation Proud, and Operation Veteran Academic Success.

Additionally, this year will include a focus on student engagement in research and creative expression aligned with the Big Ideas themes: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Materials with Intelligence, Training with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality and Harnessing Big Data.

There will also be a fund to support student-focused projects in the creative arts and humanities.

The event will feature an active social media component on Facebook (www.facebook.com/txstgiving/) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/txstgiving) with the official hashtag #StepUpforState.
