SummerFest July 4th Fireworks and Virtual Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest call for entries

SAN MARCOS — The 41st annual SummerFest fireworks show will be held on Sunday, July 4. There will not be a festival or concert, but members of the public are invited to submit photo entries for the virtual Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest.

Fireworks Show Details

The fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. from the Bobcat Stadium West Parking Lot located behind H-E-B. Community members are encouraged to park and view the show from City Park, the San Marcos Activity Center, the Public Library, and Bobcat Stadium. Patriotic music will be simulcast on the 89.9 KSTW radio station. SummerFest is sponsored by the City of San Marcos, with assistance from the San Marcos Lions Club, San Marcos Convention and Visitor Bureau, and San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Costume Contest Information

The Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest is sponsored by the City of San Marcos and San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. One winner will be selected to receive a prize pack including a pass to Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park.

Photo entries must be sent to jmach@sanmarcostx.gov by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Entries will be posted on the SMTX Community Services Facebook page, and the winner will be determined by popular vote.
