TCEQ Daily Air Quality Forecast Update

Friday 09/23/2016
If winds are light enough, lingering background levels may be high enough for ozone to reach “Moderate” in northern sections of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening.

Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds, increasing cloud cover, and/or lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range.

Saturday 09/24/2016 Outlook
Moderate winds, heavy cloud cover, and/or low incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range statewide.

Sunday 09/25/2016 Outlook
Strong northeasterly winds behind a cold front may raise some dust in parts of the Panhandle during the morning hours, with patchy dust perhaps spreading into the South Plains during the day. However, dust amounts overall should be light enough for the daily PM10 and PM2.5 AQIs to remain in the “Good” range in these areas.

Elsewhere in the state, moderate to strong winds, cooler temperatures, heavy cloud cover with precipitation, and/or low incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range.
