Wimberley ISD teachers, administrators and staff celebrated a back-to-school extravaganza flanked by local business leaders on August 8 at the Wimberley High School cafeteria.
“This was an awesome way to return to the classroom for all our team. We are very grateful to our local community for their enthusiastic support,” said Amy Wagner, Danforth Junior High Teacher.
The District team enjoyed breakfast, door prizes and giveaways provided by the generosity of the sponsors, including Sonora Bank, O’Connell Robertson, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Ozona Bank, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, Independence Title, 9Rounds Fitness, Texas Regional Bank, Dahse Financial Group, Sam’s Club, Bizzy Lizzy Boutique, Shadowridge Asset Management, Wimberley Ace, Wimberley Education Foundation, Horace Mann, the Association of Texas Professional Educators and Physical Therapy of Wimberley.
“As a former student of WHS, it was exciting to come back to my school and especially since some of my teachers are still with the district. Sonora Bank values the importance of education and the role of all the WISD team in making the school year a success,” said Josh Smith, Vice President, Sonora Bank.
The event also included a special appearance by R.B. the Riverbat, the mascot from Austin Community College.
The first day of school is August 15, 2019, with the District excited to welcome more than 2,500 students in pre-k through 12th grade.
