Texas EBT Outage Notification Update

The State of Texas is changing its Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) contractor to operate and manage the Texas Lone Star EBT system to Fidelity Information Services, LLC. The Texas EBT program supports the processing of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits.

The transition will begin at 10:00 pm CST on Sunday, May 22, 2016. The State expects the system to be operational at approximately 8:00 am CST on Monday, May 23, 2016. Manual voucher authorizations cannot be processed during the outage. Any manual vouchers for SNAP or TANF cash transactions performed during the outage will be solely at the risk of the retailer.

Outage times are planned to ensure the least possible impact to the Texas retailer and cardholder community. Depending on your store hours, your location may not be affected. Please ensure all store staff are made aware of the outage period and plan accordingly. Retailers can sign up to receive email or text message notifications about the Texas EBT-4 outage at https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/TXHHSC/subscriber/new .
