Rattler Orchestra Medals, Advances To State
Congratulations to all of the San Marcos High School orchestra students who performed at the annual UIL Solo & Ensemble contest last weekend, February 4th, in San Antonio.
According to Orchestra Director Christopher Hanson, San Marcos High School had over 37 people registered for the contest in 20 different events.
Additional congratulations are in order to all of the students who received a superior rating and medal for their performance: Luis Gonzalez-Aponte, Antonio Garcia, Kamalei Rife, Derek Camacho, Branden Tapley, Elijah Barrera, Isaiah Sosa, Robert Sanchez, Roxy Moore, Austen McGowen, Christina Tello, and Zachary Lesikar.
The following students will be advancing to the state competition in May: Luis Gonzalez-Aponte, Austen McGowen, Christina Tello, Zachary Lesikar, and Roxy Moore.
Luis Gonzalez-Aponte received a superior rating for a solo performance as well as an ensemble performance and will be taking both to the state competition.
