The Texas Pecan Growers Association is hosting its 97th annual conference and trade on July 15 to 18 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in San Marcos.
At this ticketed event, pecan growers from across the state of Texas and the country will gather to network, visit with commercial exhibitors, and attend educational seminars and an orchard tour.
These educational seminars cover topics ranging from crop insurance to best horticultural practices to new food safety laws. On the final day of the conference, attendees will tour three local pecan orchards and get another perspective on growing in Texas.
Texas Pecan Orchard“It’s the biggest event for growers across the state,” says Blair Krebs, Executive Director of TPGA. “Harvest is only a few months away, and these three days build up the excitement for the upcoming crop.”
In addition to learning about management practices, conference attendees will also receive updates from a number of pecan industry groups, including those that represent shellers, manage the federal marketing order and lead lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
