Update: Texas Raiders Thunders Into Austin-Bergstrom Airport

One of the last flying examples of the famous WWII aircraft joins other vintage warbirds at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, offering attendees a seldom seen opportunity to see and touch one of history’s most storied heavy bombers.

Due to a mechanical issue with Texas Raiders B-17, the Commemorative Air Force, Gulf Coast Wing has cancelled the Austin mission this weekend.

Austin is tentatively rescheduled for Labor Day Weekend in September.

Beginning at 1:00 PM Friday, May 26 and 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 27 through Monday, May 29, Texas Raiders B-17 will be at ABIA.

New for 2017 is her completely-redone paint scheme and nose art.

Texas Raiders, a fully restored B-17G Flying Fortress, thunders into Austin on her four giant engines.

Of the 12,731 B-17s built across the US, only 9 are currently flying—including Texas Raiders, of the Commemorative Air Force.

The public is invited to come out to tour all the aircraft and talk with their crews at Signature Flight Support, 4321 Emma Browning Ave, at Austin-Bergstrom Airport.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 or $20 for a family of up to five members.
