Texas State announces 2022 Spring Football Game and Fan Fest details

SAN MARCOS – A little over a week away, Texas State Athletics has released details for the Spring Football Game & Fan Fest presented by Bud Light, featuring a postgame autograph session, pregame 2022 signee preview, and more. Attendance is free and open to the public.

The first look at the Texas State football team will start at 11:30 am, but a number of events will take place before and after once the gates open at 9 am.

Prior to the Bobcats’ spring game, the T Association will host its annual flag football game at 9 am. Texas State alums are set to participate in the event, and Bobcat fans are invited to watch.

In between the T Association flag football game and spring game, all fans are welcome to attend the Texas State Signee Preview at 11 am in the Gowens Pavilion. Hosted by the Bobcat Club, fans can learn more from head coach Jake Spavital about the new class of 2022 signees for the upcoming season. Light food and drinks will be available during the event.

Starting at 10:30 am, fans can also take part in the Texas State jersey sale. The cash-only sale will feature items costing $10 and be located in the Gowens Pavilion.

During the spring game, fans will be taken into the action with in-game interviews of players, coaches and other notable attendees to learn more about the team and what is to come during the season.

After the game, there will be an autograph session with the Bobcats on the field for all fans.

The Katzengarten and Coca-Cola Fun Zone will also be open and available to all fans throughout the game. The Fun Zone is a family-friendly area and will have a bounce houses, a face painter, and more.

Due to construction on the west side of Bobcat Stadium, the entrances on the east side will be open (Gates 6 and 8) for fans to enter the stadium as well as Gate 1 near the Gowens Pavilion on the southwest side of the stadium. Parking and tailgating will be open on both sides of the stadium, but fans are encouraged to park in the east lot to be closer to the open entrances. Parking is free to all fans.

For fans who cannot make the game, they can listen in to the radio broadcast on The Varsity Network and txst.com. Clint Shields and Geff Gandy will have the call, with the pregame show slated to get underway at 11 am.

The spring football game is part of a big weekend at Texas State, including a volleyball exhibition match against Texas at 7 pm on Thursday, April 7 and a three-game baseball series between the Sun Belt’s top two teams in the Bobcats and Georgia Southern. The match against the Longhorns and Bobcats is free admission for all fans. The first game of the baseball series is set for Friday at 6 pm while Saturday’s contest will take place after the spring football game at 2:30 pm. The series finale is at noon on Sunday.
