ROUND ROCK – Texas State University and Ascension Seton Williamson have announced a collaboration to offer comprehensive sleep diagnostics and therapeutics to patients 12 years and older in the Williamson County area.
The new Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at the Texas State University Round Rock Campus features state-of-the-art equipment and furnishings in Willow Hall.
With a mission to serve educational, research, and diagnostic needs, the four-bedroom, four full bath Sleep Center provides a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of problems with sleeping, staying awake or troublesome behavior during sleep. The center performs sleep studies according to the highest medical standards.
Sleep Center services will be delivered by Ascension Seton Williamson clinicians. Dr. Said Soubra, pulmonary critical care and sleep medicine specialist, will serve as the medical director of the Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at Texas State. Soubra oversees the quality of patient care for all diagnostic procedures.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Texas State University to offer sleep medicine to our neighbors in Williamson County and beyond,” said Wesley Tidwell, chief operating officer at Ascension Seton Williamson. “We share a vision to meet the growing healthcare needs of this dynamic community, while providing compassionate personalized care to patients struggling with sleep disorders.”
“The idea of the sleep center as a joint effort between Ascension Seton Williamson Medical Center (ASWMC) and the Department of Respiratory Care at Texas State University began in 2019. The opportunity for sleep services to be provided in this underserved geographic area of Williamson county caught the attention of ASWMC’s leadership with a solution ‘right across the street,’” said Gregg Marshall, chair of the Department of Respiratory Care at Texas State. “The Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at Texas State University is a state-of-the-art, four-bedroom/bath facility offering sleep diagnostics and therapeutics utilizing the Philips/Respironics G3 sleep study acquisition system coupled with the Somnoware database system to provide the healthcare provider access for tech scoring and physician interpretation.
“The sleep facility will offer opportunities for respiratory care undergraduate and graduate students to complete clinical rotations within Willow Hall on Texas State’s Round Rock Campus,” Marshall said. “Sleep research will be also part of the mission of the sleep center.”
The Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at Texas State is located at 1555 University Blvd. in Round Rock. For more information, visit https://www.health.txstate.edu/rc/Texas-State-Sleep-Center.html.
