The James Madison game also starts a month of October in which the Bobcats play alternating home-and-away conference matchups. Texas State hosts App State on Oct 8, then heads to Troy on Oct. 15, and hosts Southern Miss on Oct. 22.
The Bobcats will have their lone bye of the season in week nine.
In November, Texas State opens with consecutive road games: first at Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 5 and then at South Alabama on Nov. 12.
