Staff Reports
The coaching tenure of John Frazier at Texas State started in prime fashion as the Texas State track and field program performance at this weekend’s Corky Classic “pleased” the first-year track and field director.
Sadi Giles, a junior from Sherman, Texas by way of Sherman High School, posted the second-fastest women’s 60-meter dash in school history with a 7.41 time. Dominick Yancy accomplished the same feat in the men’s 200m as the junior from Euless, Texas was clocked at 21.36 seconds.
Throughout the two-day event, the Bobcats had 15 student-athletes place in the top five of their respective events with Jada Glispie and Lee-Ann Blake claiming the top spots in the women’s 400m b dash and women’s one mile, respectively. Additionally, Texas State had 20 student-athletes finish between sixth and 10th place in their respective events.
FROM DIRECTOR OF TRACK AND FIELD JOHN FRAZIER
“My coaching staff did a great job preparing the team for their first outing. I was pleased with my team’s performances both good and subpar knowing we need to have a starting point to build off. It’s great to start building off personal bests as many of them achieved.”
