SAN MARCOS – Veronica Muzquiz Edwards, chief executive officer of InGenesis Inc., and Texas State Distinguished Alumna will be the keynote speaker during one of Texas State University’s commencement ceremonies for summer 2021 degree candidates on August 6 in Strahan Arena at the University Events Center.
Edwards will speak during the 10 a.m. ceremony on August 6, to be attended by degree candidates from the College of Education; College of Fine Arts and Communication; College of Health Professions; and Graduate College.
Degree candidates from the College of Liberal Arts; College of Science and Engineering; University College; and Graduate College will attend the 2 p.m. commencement ceremony on August 6.
Degree candidates from the McCoy College of Business Administration; College of Applied Arts; and Graduate College will attend the 6 p.m. commencement ceremony on August 6.
More than 1,600 students are candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees at Texas State this summer.
As CEO of InGenesis Inc., Edwards oversees one of the largest workforce solution firms in North America specializing in comprehensive health services. As chair of the International Organization for Standardization/Technical Committee 304 for Healthcare Organization Management, Edwards collaborates with national standards bodies and global liaison organizations. She serves as president of the Healthcare Standards Institute, LLC, an American National Standards Institute Accredited American Standards Developer, designing definitive standards and education resources to support continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.
In addition to her responsibilities as managing editor of the International Journal of Healthcare Management Standards, Edwards was recently appointed to the San Antonio branch board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, promoting strong financial systems and a healthy economy. From 2015 to 2021, Edwards served as a member of The Texas State University System Board of Regents.
Edwards earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Texas State. She earned a Master of Business Administration and Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word, where she was also named a Distinguished Alumna.
