Texas State reports assault on campus

SAN MARCOS — At approximately 12:37 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, the Texas State University Alert System sent out a text notifying students and staff that there had been an assault on campus. 

According to the Texas State University Police Department, a female student was assaulted at the Jowers Center, which is located near Sewell Park. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 70-years-old at 6′ height and 200 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt, red shorts and glasses. 

According to UPD, there is currently no additional threat to campus and the incident is being investigated.

Those with information that may assist the investigation are asked to contact UPD at 512-245-2805.
