On Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 12:59 a.m., officers made contact at Central Texas Medical Center with a reported gunshot victim.  The female victim reported that she was walking with a friend at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of River Ridge Parkway when two males approached them. According to the victim, one of the males demanded money and displayed what she described to be a firearm.

When the male pointed the firearm at the victim’s head, and demanded money, the woman declined to give them money, and one grabbed the gun “in an attempt to move it out of the way,” SM Police Department Cmdr. Kelly Earnest. said. “That’s a pretty amazing move, I don’t know if I would have done that” Earnest said.

The gun may have been a BB gun, but the victim had no way of knowing that it wasn’t a normal gun, said San Marcos police Cmdr. Kelly Earnest.

The weapon went off and caused an injury to the female’s hand. The two males then fled on foot toward the rear of the apartment complex. The female was treated and released at CTMC.

The males were described by the victim and witness as:

Suspect #1

·         Hispanic male

·         Late teens, early 20’s

·         5’8”-5’10”, thin build

·         Possibly wearing a black shirt

Suspect #2

·         Hispanic male

·         Late teens or early 20’s

·         Also 5’8”-5’10”, thin build

·         Unshaven face

·         Orange shirt and black shorts
