Yesterday, the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce hosted the 32nd annual Business Expo at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in San Marcos.
Yesterday, the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce hosted the 32nd annual Business Expo at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in San Marcos.
The day kicked off at 8:00 AM with the Shining Stars Under 40 award breakfast ceremony at 8 a.m. The chamber presented an award to five professionals who are making “significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through their service to the community.”
At 10 AM, the Expo opened its doors to the public.
The event incorporated 92 local businesses and entities including ColorMix Graphics & Printing, San Marcos Police Department, the City of San Marcos, Gary Job Corps, Aquabrew, Chic-fil-a, Hays County Food Bank, La Cima, San Marcos Premium Outlets, Corridor News and many more.
Many vendors offered interactive games and raffles where participants could win prizes. The San Marcos Premium Outlets gave away $25 gift cards.
Hays County Food Bank had a two-question quiz and turkey toss to promote their upcoming event Turkeys Tackling Hunger; winners had the choice between a HCFB magnet and pen.
ColorMix Graphics had a wheel of fortune game, which include a variety of prizes. The event also featured an ExpoPassport; attendees received a card with a list of vendors for booth attendants (of those vendors) to initial. Those who completed their passports had the opportunity to win a $500 prize.
At 4 PM, vendors were treated to food and a mixer to mingle with fellow businesses and entities.
The event concluded with Downtown San Marcos winning The Best Interactive Booth.
