The Price Center Recycling and Reusing Art Show closing with reception

Staff Reports

SAN MARCOS – Reusing and recycling is the concept behind the latest gallery exhibit, Something Old to Something New, which features 80 innovative and inspiring artworks by 70 area artists. The exhibit, which is on display throughout the first-floor galleries of the Price Center, will close with an afternoon reception on June 26.

Alexis Bierman, She Played the Ukulele.

Something New is a feast for the eyes and imagination with masterfully clever, colorful, and creative works made from a wide variety of common and often disposable materials. Twenty-five, mosaic-specific artworks by members of the Austin Mosaic Guild complete the exhibit in our Main Parlor. Many of the works are for sale, and a portion of any sales benefits the ongoing art efforts at the Center.

The Austin Mosaic Guild will hold a Closing Reception on Sunday, June 26 from 2-4 pm. Live music, light refreshments, and a chance to meet many of the artists are among the highlights of the gathering. The event is free and open to all.

Community Art Shows are conducted by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded in part through a grant from the San Marcos Arts Commission. New Calls for Art are issued every couple of months.

For more information, please call 512-392-2900, stop by the Center at 222 W. San Antonio St., or visit price-center.org or Facebook @ Price Center & Garden.
