Theatre And Dance Plans Full Slate Of Virtual Performances For Spring 2021

SAN MARCOS – The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State will offer a full schedule of virtual performances for the spring 2021 semester.

The department is prioritizing health and safety while trying to ensure students get the necessary experience required for their degree programs.

“We are following all Texas State COVID safety precautions plus implementing some of our own added safety measures to allow us to rehearse in the theatres together,” said Sarah Maines, interim chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. “As per said safety precautions, all productions will be masked and distanced at all times. We will not have audiences. We will be filming these productions in our theatres and streaming them for ticket holders to enjoy.”

Below are the productions and streaming dates for spring 2021:

  • Feb. 12-18                   Significant Other
  • Feb. 19-25                   Oedipus the King
  • March 5-11                 In Arabia We’d All Be Kings
  • March 12-18               Bunco State
  • April 5-11                   Student Dance Concert
  • April 16-22                 Mother Courage and Her Children
  • April 19-25                 Merge Dance Company
  • April 26-May 2           Choreographers’ Showcase
  • April 30-May 6           Spring Awakening
