Thomaides Hands Over Gavel To New Mayor, City Council Runoff Election Set

Out going Mayor, John Thomaides hands over the gavel to San Marcos’ new Mayor, Jane Hughson. Hughson and City Council Member Melissa Derrick were sworn in.

During a special meeting on Wednesday, November 14, the results of the Nov. 6 election were canvassed and Hughson and Derrick were sworn in.

Runoff Election

Running for Place Four are Mark Rockeymoore and Shane Scott, and for Place Five are Jocabed “Joca” Marquez and Rick Henderson.

The runoff results will be canvassed and the new City Council members sworn in on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. a City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins.
