18-year-old Ralph Fabian Rodriguez has been charged in the 428th District Court with Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle and Causing Death, two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter (causing death while driving while intoxicated) and two counts of murder.

Rodriguez was on the Hays County Most Wanted Fugitives list in January of 2022, and was arrested by Hays County Sheriff’s Office Deputies on February 1 after they received an anonymous tip the suspect was in New Braunfels.

“The murder counts allege that the defendant was committing a felony (evading detention in a motor vehicle) and committed an act clearly dangerous to human life that caused the death of another person. This provision under the murder statute, Penal Code 19.02, is commonly referred to as “felony murder” to distinguish it from regular murder (in which a person intentionally or knowingly causes a death),” said Wes Mau, Criminal District Attorney of Hays County.
