Senator Judith Zaffirini’s latest biweekly webinar will be on “Ensuring Government Transparency During Emergencies,” on  Wednesday, October 7, 1:30 p.m.

It will feature a panel discussion of journalists, broadcasters, and public information experts regarding how transparency and thoughtful reporting is critical to keeping the public safe and informed during uncertain times.

The webinar moderator and participants will include Julie Fine, political reporter for KXAS-TV and co-host of Lone Star Politics, will moderate. Panelists include Jaie Avila, investigative reporter for WOAI-TV; and Justin Gordon, Chief of the Open Records Division, Office of the Attorney General. Co-sponsors are the Texas Association of Broadcasters, Texas Press Association, and Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. Senator Zaffirini will host.
