TONIGHT: ‘Tin House’ Editor Rob Spillman To Give Reading At KAP House

Award-winning cofounding editor of Tin House magazine, Rob Spillman, will read from his new memoir, All Tomorrow’s Parties, and sign copies at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center in Kyle April 29 at 7:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

All Tomorrow’s Parties is Spillman’s literary and music-filled coming-of-age portrait of an artist’s life that doubles as a cultural exploration of Berlin, where he spent his childhood and returned months after the collapse of the Berlin Wall.

Spillman started Tin House, a literary magazine, with his wife Elissa Schappell in 1998. The magazine has since been honored in several anthologies, including Best American Stories, Best American Essays and Best American Poetry. Spillman is also editorial advisor of Tin House Books and has contributed book reviews and essays to Salon and Book Forum. He frequently writes for popular magazines and newspapers, with pieces published by the Baltimore Sun, the Boston Review, Rolling Stone, the New York Times Book Review, Vanity Fair and others.

The event is part of the Lindsey Reading Series and is sponsored by the Wittliff Collections, the Burdine Johnson Foundation and the Department of English at Texas State University.
