I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.

Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road with the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will going over Posey Road.

This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.

The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019 and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

Southbound I-35 frontage road closed continuously from Posey Road to York Creek Road.
Friday, Sept. 18 at 9 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 20 until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.

This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016 with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

Southbound I-35 Slaughter Lane exit (#227) closed nightly.
Wednesday, Sept. 23 through Thursday, Sept. 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from William Cannon Drive to Boggy Creek Drive.

I-35 AT NORTHWEST BOULEVARD

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconstruct the Northwest Boulevard bridge over I-35. The project will also construct a four-lane roadway with a roundabout and intersection improvements that connect to the new bridge.

The construction started in September 2019 and is anticipated to conclude in Fall 2020, weather permitting. The projected project cost is estimated at $8.15 million and the contractor is Chasco Constructors.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

The construction commenced in January 2018 with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams.

Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from the US 183/St. Johns Avenue exit (#240) to Powell Lane. The US 183/St. Johns Avenue exit will also be closed.

Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly at US 183.
Sunday, Sept. 20 through Thursday, Sept. 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from US 183 to Rundberg Lane. The Rundberg Lane exit (#241) will also be closed.
Monday, Sept. 21 through Thursday, Sept. 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Camino La Costa to Blackson Avenue.
Monday, Sept. 21 through Friday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive.
Monday, Sept. 21 through Friday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 FROM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include relocating the exit ramp on the northbound I-35 frontage road to reduce vehicle congestion on I-35 mainlanes and improve the northbound frontage road by adding an extended exit lane between RM 1431 and FM 3406.

The estimated construction cost is $10.7 million. Construction commenced in mid-2019 with an anticipated completion date for early 2021. Jordan Foster Construction is the contractor for this project.

Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit (#256).

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH 45 NORTH

PROJECT ACTIVITY | Improvements include reversing ramps, constructing an extended entrance/exit lane on the northbound I-35 mainlanes under SH 45 North, along the frontage road, installing high-mast lighting, and improvements at Picadilly Drive and the I-35 frontage road.

The projected cost is estimated at $8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction will start August 2020 and anticipated to be complete in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Reduced congestion, improved mobility at Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

The estimated construction cost for this project is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) with an estimated cost of $24.6 million.

Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation as the project contractor.
