San Marcos first responders will step up their presence and traffic control by the outlet malls over the Black Friday shopping weekend.
The southbound IH-35 / Centerpoint Road exit ramp will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 23 at 11 p.m. The northbound IH-35 / McCarty Lane exit ramp will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. until Saturday Nov. 24 at 6 p.m.
Motorists will need to exit McCarty Lane going southbound IH-35 or exit at Centerpoint Road going northbound IH-35.
Police presence will increase at the outlet malls from Thursday evening through Sunday evening. Other officers will be on traffic control duty on Centerpoint Road.
Free shuttle service
On Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, Tanger Outlets and San Marcos Premium Outlets will provide free parking and shuttle service.
The shuttle will pick up at San Marcos High School, 2601 Rattler Road (E. McCarty Ln.) Shoppers and outlet employees will be shuttled to San Marcos Premium Outlets and Tanger Outlets from San Marcos High School with options of stopping at four different locations at the outlet malls.
