TRAFFIC ALERT: I-35 Lane Closures In San Marcos For Pavement Repairs

The Texas Department of Transportation will close multiple lanes of Interstate 35 in San Marcos next week to repave the bridge decking in order to preserve the life of the pavement and bridge structures, as well as to provide motorists with a smoother, safer, and more comfortable ride.

Crews will close multiple southbound I-35 lanes between SH 123 and Center Point Road on Sunday and Monday nights. On Tuesday through Thursday nights, work shifts to the northbound I-35 lanes from Center Point Road to SH 80. All closures will be in the left and center lanes and take place from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The closures will allow workers to mill the bridge decking in these areas and then apply a new, smooth driving surface.

Road signs have been placed alerting drivers of the closure. Motorists should consider alternate routes or allow extra time to travel through this area during the affected hours, as heavy delays are expected. TxDOT asks the traveling public to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
