Traffic Update: December 3 — December 9

 BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND: The following IH 35 exit ramps will be closed for Black Friday Thursday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. to Friday, Nov: 25 at 10 p.m.:
• Southbound IH 35 exit ramp for Centerpoint Rd (Exit 200). Southbound drivers should use the McCarty exit (exit 201) to access San Marcos Outlets.
• Northbound IH 35 exit ramp for McCarty Lane (exit 201). Northbound drivers should use Centerpoint Rd exit (exit 200) to access McCarty Lane.

The purpose of the exit ramp closures is to prevent traffic conflicts during the Black Friday weekend at the San Marcos Outlet Mall. City of San Marcos Transportation Dept., 512.393.8036

 SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS: All lanes in both directions at the 200 block of CM Allen Pkwy will be closed for the Sights and Sounds event from Nov. 30 – Dec. 3 nightly from 5:45 – 11:45 p.m. Scott Raven, 512.738.2243  Nov. 30 @ 5:45 p.m.  Dec. 3 @ 11:45 p.m.
 SIGHTS AND SOUNDS 5K RACE: There will be numerous intersections from Hopkins to University that will be temporarily closed for the 5K & Kids 1K Jingle Bell Run on Dec. 3 from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Scott Raven, 512.738.2243  Dec. 3 @ 7:30 a.m.  Dec. 3 @ 11:30 a.m.
SPRINGTOWN WAY: A mill and overlay project will begin on Springtown Way on November 16 from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting, for the exception of Saturday and Sunday. The project will last 4 to 6 weeks. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8025 Nov. 16 @ 7 a.m. 4-6 weeks
RATTLER ROAD 5K RACE: Rattler Rd. from San Marcos High School to HWY 123 will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 for the Rock N Rattler 5k race. Ray Martinez, 512.644.1743 Nov. 19 @ 7 a.m. Nov. 19 @ 10 a.m.
 417 COMANCHE: Southbound lane at 417 Comanche between Lindsey and Pat Garrison will be reduced to one lane on Nov. 22 & 23 at 5 a.m. – 2 p.m. for construction maintenance. Be aware of flaggers. Skyline builders/Matthew Ostrowski, 512.699.6465 Nov. 22 @ 5 a.m – 2 p.m.  Nov. 23 @ 5 a.m. – 2 p.m.

IH 35/ HWY 123: Southbound frontage road off of IH 35 to RM 12 will have intermittent lane closures for guardrail installation and striping on November 14 – 18 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.709.5969 Nov. 14 @ 8 p.m. Nov. 18 @ 5 a.m.
120 E. SAN ANTONIO ST: The alley located between Allstate and The Marc will be closed for tour bus parking during filming of Texas Music Scene on Wednesday, November 16 from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. and also on November 18, 19 & 20 from 2 p.m. to 2 p.m. daily. COERS DR: From Old RR12 to Owens, there will be intermittent lane closures on Nov. 28 – 30 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Traffic will be routed through the work zone with flaggers. SESSOM DR: From N.LBJ to Aquarena Springs. There will be alternating multi-lane closures for overhead utility work associated with the Sessom Bike/Pedestrian project along Sessom. Daily closures will start on Oct. 24, 2016 and last through Jan. 1, 2017, weather permitting. There will be some occasional overnight lane closures required. 817 CHESTNUT ST: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through end of November. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469.236.0922 Present End of November 
N LBJ:  From Holland St. to Camaro Way will be closed to through traffic until the Spring of 2017. Road closure will occur during daytime construction hours. City contractor will be replacing utility lines in the area. Through traffic including Emergency Vehicles, will be routed around the project limits; please follow the detours.
