Traffic Update Projects Affecting Traffic February 22 – 28, 2015

HUNTER RD: The next phase of the Hunter Road widening project will begin on Feb. 23 and last through May 2015. Construction includes street widening and the installation of new water, wastewater and drainage pipe. Traffic will be one-way northbound on Hunter between Dixon and Bishop. Southbound traffic will detour at Bishop, Craddock and Wonder World. Residents along Hopkins south of Bishop will be able to access their homes by taking Bishop to Belvin and back to Hopkins. READ & MOORE STREET: Installation of a new water line connection at the intersection of Read and Moore Streets until Sunday, March 22, weather permitting. All traffic on Moore between Read and Blanco Hall Drive will be one-way heading south toward Old RR 12. There will be no left turn from Blanco Hall Drive onto Moore, resulting in right turns only toward Old RR 12. Use caution and pay attention to all appropriate signage. VICTORY GARDENS NEIGHBORHOOD: Starting Feb. 23 through Feb. 28, 2015 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. the following streets in Victory Gardens will be under construction to replace damaged curb and gutters: Knox, Hines, Reyes and Jones. DAVIS/RIVER/UHLAND RD: San Marcos 5K Stampede and 1 Mile Fun Run Feb. 21 from 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. Runners will start at McCoy’s Corporate Building and will turn right onto Davis Lane, left on River Road, right onto Uhland Road, turn around and return along the same course. IH 35 AT YARRINGTON: Three lanes closed northbound on Feb. 23 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and three lanes closed southbound Feb. 24 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to install overhead beams. If work has not been completed by Feb. 24, then southbound and northbound lanes will also be closed on Feb. 25, 2015 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. TxDOT 512.585.3540

UNIVERSITY & LBJ (DOWNTOWN): Workers will begin installing decorative pavers over the next several weeks in the crosswalks throughout the downtown area to include University and LBJ. Traffic will continue to flow two ways but will be reduced to one lane intermittently. CIP/ENGINEERING, 512.393.8130

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430

LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:

• MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202

• NORTH LBJ AT ACORN: Reconstruction of N. LBJ will continue until end of February 2015 in conjunction with the N. LBJ reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Acorn Street can be accessed from Chestnut during this time period. • NORTH LBJ: Until Spring of 2015. Reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements.
