Traffic Update: Work To Start On McKie Water Main Project

Roads Closed to Through Traffic, Resident Access Maintained Work to Begin on McKie Water Main Project

City contractors will begin work on the installation of a water main along McKie and Lee streets next week. These roads will be closed to through traffic during construction.

The $588,000 project begins Monday, Jan. 8 and will replace undersized water mains on McKie St. from Cheatham to Love St.; Lee St. from Guadalupe St. to McKie St.; and on Love St. (208’ from McKie St.) in advanced of the 2019 mill and overlay project scheduled for this area.

All streets within the project limits will be closed to through traffic, but homeowners and residents will continue to have traffic access to their homes. City contractors will distribute flyers to residents in the project area early next week providing details and instructions about the project.

Construction should be completed by Summer of 2018.
