Two Arrested In Kyle For Car Burglary

Kyle, TX – Two off-duty Kyle Police officers who were working at EVO Entertainment arrested two people suspected of car burglary in the theater parking lot.

The call came in around 6:16 p.m. Dec. 19. Officers Jonathan Akers and David Saenz heard a dispatch call of a possible physical disturbance in the parking lot of EVO that may have started over a burglary. Officers checked the parking lot and observed a vehicle matching the description given by the witnesses. They stopped the vehicle and detained the two individuals.

The suspects, Monica Lee Garcia (DOB 06/16/94) and Frank Angel Ybarra (DOB 12/08/87), were questioned about the disturbance and the allegations of burglary. Officers located stolen items in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspects ultimately admitted to burglarizing other vehicles.
The altercation began when the owner of a vehicle found Ybarra in her van. When confronted, Ybarra returned the items taken and offered money so the vehicle owner would not call the police.

Both suspects were charged with three counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and transported to Hays County Jail. Ybarra’s charges were enhanced due to having two previous convictions of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

Kyle Police Department recommends locking vehicles at all times and keeping any valuables out of view.

“We encourage everyone to keep vehicle doors locked, whether at home or while out and about town,” Chief Jeff Barnett said. “It’s also best to not keep valuables in your vehicle, or at least put them out of sight.”
